Oasis never got the kudos they deserve in North America
They continue to sell out massive stadiums in Europe

Dio
Cheap Trick
Foreigner

Quicksilver Messenger Service.
They concentrated on music while the other two famous bands from the area and era went for celebrity and lifestyle.
January 25th, 2010 at 5:36 pm
Oasis
Testament
Just thought I’d reply to Rocco… Compared to the rest of the thrash bands they are. Especially outside the people who are ‘in the know’. The larger bands seem to overshadow them.

Many:
Van Der Graaf Generator
The Cars
Rush (though in musician circles, those guys are HIGHLY regarded)
Disagree w/ Yes though. They pretty much put a face on prog rock in the 70s. Their very name is pretty much synonymous w/ prog rock & are highly regarded.

Gang of Four
The The
The Kinks
January 30th, 2010 at 10:29 am
Fugazi
Bad Religion
Rancid
The Lemonheads
Superdrag
Nada Surf
Edit: I think the winner is the answer with the most thumbs down (that illustrates just how underrated the band is)

I’d say Primus they don’t get recognition because of being so avant’ garde
February 16th, 2010 at 3:49 am
i totally agree w/ Blue Oyster Cult and Deep Purple. People only kno them for one song. Blue Oyster Cult- Don’t Fear the Reaper and Deep Purple- Smoke on the Water. But theres SO MUCH more to them and nobody seems to notice.
another one i’d put on the list would be Anthrax. When people think Thrash Metal they think Metallica Slayer or Megadeth. Yet Anthrax was also a big part of it yet they’re always being overshadowed by the other three.

Frank Zappa…

Why do so many people mention Deep Purple & Yes as far as I know they’re considered milestones.
